It's been a while since I have posted. Mostly because I just have not felt inspired to write about anything. I need an movement of God's Holy Spirit in my life right now. I need one badly and am praying that God will show himself in a mighty and powerful way.
We are preparing for the holidays at the church. We have our 5th Sunday celebration service with two baptisms coming up on Nov. 30th. That is enough to jump for joy! We had 8 in the nursery yesterday during the morning service. That is another reason to jump for joy! So why am I so depleted of God's spirit.
Please continue to pray for our church. That God will move in a mighty way through out the people of the church and in the community. May we reach our community for Christ!

Hearing
Our women's Bible study has been showing us how to "hear" the voice of God. Some times I don't want to hear from God. I don't want to know what He has to say to me because it might be something I don't want to hear. Other times I am anxiously awaiting His voice. This week I have been praying that God will do something in my life that only He can do. Guess what? HE DID! At first I did not recognize it but then I heard a still small voice say "This is it!" I did it! I answered your prayer. I was so excited and I can't wait to tell the ladies about it this Sunday evening.

Blessings from Heaven
Yesterday was a wonderful day at church. One of our children made a profession faith which was wonderful. We have not had a baptism in a year so this is great to be planning a baptism for this new church year.
We had seven children in the nursery. The nursery was so crowed that we are going to have to probably knock down a wall to make more room for the little ones. If all the little ones come we would have close to 15. This is a wonderful problem to have. We have been praying for young couples with children to come to our church and God has answered our prayers.
Last night we had a wonderful Women's Bible Study. We had a few who were not there but added three new ones. This is a great Bible Study and I encourage anyone to take part in this study. I have learned a lot just in the two weeks that I have been participating in this study.
I praise God for the blessing that He bestowed upon yesterday and the ones He blessed me with personnally today.

Kid's klub
The children who are coming to Kid's Klub on Wednesday evenings have been learning the Books of the Bible. Right now we are learning the New Testament. This is even hard for me because after a certain point I just get confused as to which order. I am hoping this will help me as much as the children.
Waiting
The Lord is really working on me through this Women's Bible Study. WAITING - is what the Lord is telling me to do right now. Wait on His timing. This is very hard for me. I want results and I want them NOW! I just ask for your prayers as I learn to wait on the Lord in certain situations.

Ladies Bible Study
Tonight was the first night of the Ladies Bible Study at church. We had 13 women present with one absent. It was great! We had a wonderful time and all the ladies enjoyed it. I am praying this will give us the spark that we need at the church.

September is finally here
It's been a month since I have posted last. A lot has happened since then. My family went on vacation. We went on a four day cruise to the Bahamas. I can't believe that we actually accomplished one of our dreams. Our daughter has gone back to USC. I have been sick and David buzzed his hair off. Like I said a lot has happened this past month.
Now we are ready for a new church year. We are starting a new preschool Sunday School class. We have a lot of two and three years old if only we could get them to start coming to Sunday School. We are planning our annual swimming party and hoping that the hurricanes do not interfere with our plans.
Our numbers are still off and the spirit a little off but we are continually praying that God will take control and bring thems around.

Well its time. My family and I are going on vacation this week. I can't believe that it's here. We have been planning this vacation since February. At that time, August seemed so far away. Now we leave in the morning for Florida and then off to the Bahamas for a few day of sun, fun and relaxation.
While we are gone, one of our members will preach this Sunday. I know that he will do a wonderful job and both David and I are sad that we will miss this Sunday.
Pray for our family as we travel. Pray also that none of us get seasick.
Can't wait till we get back and show everyone some wonderful pictures. Now its off to finish packing.

Today is Friday and we are getting ready for another day at Cartersville Baptist Church. The bulletins are ready and David has been preparing for his sermon. Our numbers have been really down lately. I am so ready for our church to be filled to capacity and have to put chairs in. I wish that God would pour out His spirit on our church and fill it with people who love the Lord as much as David and I do. Is this too much to ask? For the Lord to send us some new people or bring back the old ones. We send cards, call people, do things for them and nothing happens. Lord I really need a blessing from you! I ask that you send us one and soon.
I also ask that the members of CBC start praying for this too! When we all join in together and ask God to bless you He will hear our prayers.

Praise Report
David and I went to the hospital this morning around 6:30 am. His MRI (of the brain) only took about an hour. They told us that the doctor had requested that the results be called into his office by 9:00 am this morning. Around 11:00 am this morning David called and said the test was negative. Praise the Lord! I think we were both thinking brain tumor or something of that nature. We are glad that this report came out great. He is still dizzy and having headaches but the doctor changed some of his heart medicine hoping that this would take care of the situation. Please keep us in your prayers especially as we get ready for vacation.

Callie
Tomorrow is a scary for my husband and I. David is to have an MRI of the brain tomorrow morning. He has been dizzy and having headaches. We are both scared but we are relying on God to supply all our needs. Whatever is in our future I know that God will be in control. I do know that I have a loving church family who will be there with us no matter what happens. I love my church family and praise God that He sent us to that small country church.

Today was a great day at church. One of our youngest guys sang today for the first time. He did a great job. Our pianist was out today so guess who got to fill in? Me! That was a miracle. I have not toched a piano in years. I did the best I could and somehow we made it through.
After church 15 or so of us went to a new restaurant in Lamar. It was really great. It was good to have everyone together to enjoying a meal.

This week we had nine children and youth who went to camp. Five children and four youth. Out of these nine children we had one who made a profession of faith. That is worth everything to me! To have one more in the kingdom of God.

This is my first ever post to a blog. I am not sure what to write.
Our church is very small. We have about 75 members which includes babies, preschoolers, children, youth, young couples, and senior adults.
We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 for Sunday School and 11:00 am for Worship. We also meet on Wednesday evenings for prayer meeting and children and youth activities.
We have a lot to offer those looking for a home church.
